AppRnk (apprnk.com) is a global discovery and ranking platform for AI applications. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have, including rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where it applies.

1. Who we are and how to reach us

AppRnk operates apprnk.com and is the data controller for personal data processed through the service. For any privacy question, request or complaint, contact [email protected]. We respond to verifiable requests without undue delay and within one month where GDPR timelines apply.

2. Data we collect

Account data: name or username, email address, password hash and account preferences. Usage data: pages viewed, searches, ratings, reviews, favorites and follows, stored as privacy-light aggregate events without IP addresses in our analytics tables. Developer data: company name, verification email, submitted documents and payment metadata needed for listing claims and verification. Communications: emails you send to [email protected] and support correspondence.

Technical data: a random visitor identifier stored in a cookie (srcx_lang, srcx_visitor), device and browser type, and approximate region derived from language settings. We do not build advertising profiles.

3. Why we use data and the legal bases

To provide the service (contract): accounts, sign-in, saved apps, reviews, developer listings and verification. To improve and secure the service (legitimate interests): aggregated rankings, hot searches, fraud prevention, rate limiting and debugging. To communicate with you (contract or consent): verification emails, security notices, release notifications you follow and replies to your inquiries. Marketing emails, if any, are sent only with your consent and always include an unsubscribe option.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Strictly necessary cookies: sign-in session, language preference (srcx_lang), visitor identifier for view counting (srcx_visitor) and security tokens. These are required for the site to function and do not require consent. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block cookies in your browser, but sign-in and preferences will stop working.

5. How we share data

We do not sell personal data. We share limited data with processors who help operate AppRnk: hosting and infrastructure providers, email delivery services, payment provider Dodo for verification fees, and app stores when you follow outbound links. Processors act only on our instructions under data-processing agreements. We disclose data when required by law or to protect rights, safety and the integrity of the service.

6. International transfers

AppRnk serves a global audience, so data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where GDPR applies, transfers rely on adequacy decisions or appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses with our processors.

7. Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for security and legal compliance. Usage events are aggregated; raw view events older than 24 months are deleted or anonymized. Verification documents are retained only as long as needed for the verification decision plus applicable legal limitation periods. You may request earlier deletion as described below.

8. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, especially under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase and port your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any right, email [email protected] from your account address; we verify identity before acting. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, for example in the EU with the authority of your residence.

9. Security

We apply industry-standard measures: encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, least-privilege access, salted verification tokens with expiry, and rate limiting. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong unique password and tell us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

10. Children

AppRnk is not directed at children under 13, or the higher minimum age in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child has provided data, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy and will post the new version with its effective date. Material changes are announced on the site. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
